One of the sifting techniques we commonly use at Dinnissen is based on using of centrifugal force.
The material to be sifted is introduced into the sifting chamber through a pneumatic conveying system or by gravity, and the material is sifted during rotation. The product particles that are small enough pass through the screen, while contaminants and larger particles are discharged through a special outlet. Thanks to the various setting options, mesh openings up to and including 30 μm and various screen lengths, a single machine can process capacities from a few kg/hour up to more than 30 tons/hour. But if you want to process even larger product quantities, Dinnissen is always happy to offer you specific solutions. This also applies to other requirements, such as ATEX Zone 20, a special high-care-food solution, as it does to use of a specific material. Many processors opt to use a vibrating sifter before a product is processed in their process line.
This 'safety screen' helps producers to determine critical control points (Critical Control Points). Here you should consider the integration in bag dumping cabinets or use as an application under silo and Big Bag delivery systems. This process, driven by imbalance -weight systems or vibration motors, makes the following operations possible:
A vibrating or tumbling mesh screen mesh is often the option used to achieve the desired product separation during these steps. Naturally, there is a limit to what can be mechanically sifted off, i.e. in terms of grain size. These sifters are often round or rectangular and they are available in various types of material, and they include specific cleaning options with air, impact or ultrasonic vibrations.
Dinnissen offers a wide variety of vibration and centrifugal sifters specifically designed for in-line sifting using a pneumatic, negative or positive pressure conveyor.
These sifting techniques, offer the capability of implementing an extra qualification step in a continuous process. Another example of a possible application is a scenario where bulk trucks are unloaded through an in-line sifter with capacities of 20–30 tons/hour.

Quality is of great importance in animal feed, pet food or aqua feed production.
During the production process, feed nuts, pellets or biscuits are formed by a press or extruder, which are then dried, coated and cooled. The chunks then pass through a drum sifter, where the product is spread over a first screen mesh and the undersized parts (grit and broken pieces) are separated. The product then goes on to a coarser part of the sifter drum through which the good pieces fall and the oversized parts (clods or caked product) are discharged via a spout.
Dinnissen drum sifters are available in several sizes, depending on the desired capacity. Extra-large versions are also available for cleaning raw materials. This version only separates out contaminants (oversized parts).
